Is my name... My day job is not a journalist. And I don't run a travel agency. I travel a tad more than an average person does, that's cos it's what I do for a living. For the time being at least. Envy me not cos the job glitz goes just as far as the Image hosting by Photobucket does, in between, it's (*7%!#@@?). Just another job, that's what I mean. But I love it and I love it, and I'm grateful. Anyhow, welcome to my weblog. In here, you'll get, if not little, scanty info on my globetrots and travels. Do not expect detailed accounts, nor travel-guide type facts and figs. Just some idiot-proof, Info-Sharing-101, you could find handy if you're looking up destinations, I've been to, myself. Feel free to indulge, heed my advice, dump it, comment, pop your queries or judge me, for all you fancy. All info are true at point of publishing, unless stated otherwise. Hmmph, just one advice. I share cos I'm naturally nice like that, but I'm not always, always right. Don't say I didn't warn you.

What say u...

Masala tea and humble pie.

After had survived an extremely arduous, five-hour flight to Delhi, I checked into my hotel room feeling no less than spice-beatened! Besides being deployed for steward duties (reads: aching toes and back), I reeked of coffee and masala tea that splished-splashed onto my very famous uniform. My famous uniform coincidentally, minus the cumin-adled, gravy stain that must have seeped through from the Indian vegetarian meal while I was loading the meal carts, was one of the reasons why I had so wanted to be a stewardess. Along with wanting to "see the world" and "meet new people"(ref : Ten year series for surviving an aircrew interview. Written by: Others who have survived.) Just like any other flights to or from India, or basically just any flights with Indian nationals, it was anything but easy. I am not being prejudiced here but if you'ld let me explain, I'll tell you why exactly. I mean, it has been culturally accepted that Indians usually regard their guests in their homes with real prodigious and immense honour. They would be at their back and call, attending to their guests's every needs. Due to such cultural expectations, a guest's request can sometimes be interminable. However, such expectations may be met if they are limited to a small number of people in a household not constrained by flight hours limitations, safety regulations, and a handful of us crew attending to enthusiastic passengers, each with a special request, and wanting them all at the same time. The human natural systems only allow us to be at one place at any one time, but yes we can multi-task, but we are bounded by the capability of a pair of hands and legs just the same. Most times, we could only hope for tremendous understanding and patience from our passengers, and sometimes we are lucky. My humble job also stretches to picking up after passengers who insist on throwing whatever that is inedible, onto the carpeted floors. Anyhow, I love my job still. Cos besides the challenges, it opens up my eyes and heart to alot of things which makes me who I am. I am honestly humbled by the cultural diversities of the people whose paths I have crossed and learnt from. Enough soap with heroic endings, I did what I have to do during my short lay-over in Delhi.
Eye-brow threading and *YEOWCH!*ing waxing moments, checked. I headed to Sarojini Nagar for some retail therapy. And amongst the jamboree, I got myself some real treasures, costing me really what you wouldn't have guessed, anyway. Then, all the hard work and bending backward and forward was all the more, worth it! Humble pie tastes like chocolate. Or if u'ld rather errmmmm... masala flavoured?
