Is my name... My day job is not a journalist. And I don't run a travel agency. I travel a tad more than an average person does, that's cos it's what I do for a living. For the time being at least. Envy me not cos the job glitz goes just as far as the does, in between, it's (*7%!#@@?). Just another job, that's what I mean. But I love it and I love it, and I'm grateful. Reeking of coffee, aerosol and everything unpleasant....and a tad too much information.

I got home today from my short lay-over in Down-Under, Somewhere.
Well, the flight was fine though I found myself keeping really low-keyed. I didn't know exactly what was it that had triggered the silent, non-interruptive me. I wasn't "pms"sy. Nor was I upset with anything in particular. Infact, a few good things have been happening to me. Like earning a new pair of birkis, courtesy of dear team girl, Han, who had done enough Frankfurt flights to help keep my birki collection up-to-the-minute and supplement my avant-gardist nature, or if that is too much self-glorification, perhaps, fashionista-wannabe dynamism, should douse the narcissism. And of cos I have to mention darling Kak Lin, who have decided that we should share our birkis since we both wear the same size, and it started with why don't I borrow hers (which was a brilliant suggestion), even though I don't need it just yet. But would never mind it, of cos. Cos it's like an extension to my collection. A Bigga, Betta extension.

Anyhow, while I was there in Down Under, Somewhere, I hung out with Humairah, a zany, really fun-loving, counterpart, whose sister has the same name as me, and whose father's name is like mine. Anyhow, we both are Virgoans equally. Having shared sentiments on certain issues and hitting it off like almost instantly. She is just so wacky. Had poured out what seemed like the most drama, days of our lives stories, over lunch, and a tad bit of shopping which got me nothing but some facial care products and gums for my mum, and a new hair accesory, and a new can of hairspray, 2 bars of chocolates, a packet of ondeh-ondeh which i had the "juice" oozing from them for my lack of care at carrying, a packet of my favourite big, fat, juicy, mint dragees, a carton of milk, two slices of pizza, a piece of banana cake...yes! That's my whole bag of nothings, I must say. We met up with her cousin who is studying there. A sweet-young-thing, very decent, really docile character. She is all that even though I didn't quite expect her to ask me these,
"So how old are u?", "Do u have a boyfriend?", " Why not?", "I'm surprised!", "Do you smoke?"
....khekhe....Having that come from someone her age, it was appaling, yet good-naturedly, almost unassuming and carelessly, innocent. She's afterall very young. And I told her like a real-learned, been there, done it all, sisterly natured, and you'll-know-when-you-get-there-matter-of-factly,
"....sometimes, things just don't go the way you'ld plan them,"
And she nodded like she understood, which honestly, was good enough for me. I wasn't going to make her understand anyway. I just wanted to dismiss the bit about "Do u have a boyfriend?", "Why not?"...really really quickly.
Then I came onboard and was deployed to work in Business Class. The first I noticed of this particular passenger was that, he had wanted a seat change. He got it cos we weren't expecting a full load. After offering him the works of what that was to be offered, amenities, papers, magazines, he told me this, " U know Nadia, U remind me of a good friend's wife, and I like u."
???? Incensing or flattering? I can't quite decide. But I was quick at dismissing his condition for the lack of cabin pressure at 35,000 feet, mid-air, people don't usually talk much sense. So everytime I walked pass his aisle, he'ld stop me to say something, anything. The last was when he asked, ..."may I see your palm?" And I was fast to veto cos I don't like people reciting my future. But he was even faster at orating my characteristics from it like he was reading it from a book. In a good-natured and humbly manner I declined and reasoned my not letting, self-fulfilling prophecy undermine my better judgement towards life and destiny, while the better faithed me heaved "astaghfirallah" like a thousand million times...underneath my breath!
Then I landed way earlier than scheduled and had had time to check my new roster. 3 long flights before my leave starts. Good! Excellent, in fact! And first long flight will commence Friday. So I foresee, hibernative, non-updates, for awhile cos I'm gonna be away. Till I return, take care peeps. I will too. Will natter some more when I get back. Oh yes, had a nice, free, ride home, today. Not cos it's free, but rather cos it's nice. So it's a nice ride, cos it's nice. And if I hadn't been dog-tired, I'ld prolly need an air-bag for the information I had just received via msn earlier. I know it won't make sense to anyone who's reading this but himself. Pardon my inane state. Pardon my lamenting for I'm really just dronning. But am I to seek amnesty for my lack of good looks and imperfect features that I was borned with? Pardon me if it's imposing. Pardon me if it's disturbing. But thank you for sobering me, I thank Allah nonetheless, that I am not perfect and for letting me keep whatever piece of humility that I could savor for mybeing imperfect.

IF Yan can cook, so be it.....

Flight time was 17hrs 25. Landed in Newark International Airport earlier than scheduled.
As usual, Me and Jamz bunked in. My room this time, leaving her room vacant the entire time we were there. Temperature reported that day we touched down was 7 degrees celcius. All seemed pretty normal despite the fact that we haven't bunked in, in about 2 months, I think, cos of our roster, and that I've changed my toiletry bag. I'm not sure if Jamz noticed it tho. Anyhow, soon after we checked into my room, our food arrived. It's just the way Jamz is with planning stuffs. She does it so well, all the time. Had ordered it while we were waiting for our room keys so we don't have to wait very long afterwards. She's a swell gal, splendid with planning and organising unlike urs truly.
Had our makan and unpacking and Jamz was already removing her nail varnish, make-up and bun off throbbing head while I lay on the sofa, motionless. Oblivious to any form of discomfort, I was just too tired to care. I still had my stockings on and it wasn't a pleasant sight, trust me on this one. Had asked Jamz to pardon my beaten state. She showered while I conked out. I came round to a freshened Jamz and I dragged myself to do the same. After removing the tonnes of make up and hair spray that had been major pain-inducing, and causing head to pound like it never did before, and yes laundry which I had to do with my Bath & Bodyworks, body wash cos I have forgotten to replenish my mini detergent bottle, it was 2 am already!
The next time I checked, it was 1 at noon. I had silently done some mental mathematics that if me and Jamz woke up, we'ld prolly leave by 2pm to get our shopping done. A few places that we had wanted to go to.
Next time check, 7.
7 PM!!!!! That was it! Our off day! Our precious OFF day. Gone just like that. On a brighter note, it has saved us from the perils of damage beyond revert to our financial well-beings. Woke up, felt disgusted about ourselves, ate, disgusted, ate some more, disgusted. Checked out the crew room and surfed on the website for abit. Had promised to go out the next day before our standby starts and we set our alarm. The next day, we went in search for our favourite Halal push-cart join near our hotel, we found it this time. ( If u're a crew and if u do not already know, and u'ld like to check this place out, this is how u get there...exit our hotel and make a left turn, till u get to the first traffic junction, turn right and cross the road to the other side,walk one block down and cross another traffic junction, turn right again. There u are, that Egyptian guy and his push-cart, can't recall his name, really nice and not the "tiko" sort. Located just opposite to "East", a Japanese restaurant. He's always there till around 1530, but not on weekends.) And yes if you want the number to a Halal Thai join that does delivery in NYC, lemme know and I'll email you the number wokay? So we headed to Abercrombie. And it was so much of a hassle cos there a was parade going on at the same time. And the grid system just doesn't make it any easier for us to cross the blocked roads. It was St. Patrick's Day. And people, Irish I believe, were spotting green somethings on their bodies. Hats, scarves, stick-ons and paint, u name it! We finally arrived at Abercrombie off Fifth Avenue and were greeted by two huge guys at the door, but they were cute nonetheless. Inexplicable as it may seem, the staff at Abercrombie look like they had just hopped off the runway of an A&F fashion show cos they are ALL sho CUTE! And I'm really not exaggerating. Ask Jamz, ask anyone who's been there! Really! Really! We headed to a couple more places before stopping by Starbucks for a good cuppa Marble Mocha Macchiato to thaw frozen lil fingers and toes before heading back to our hotel cos standby was to start soon after. Unpacked, retired and all ready to pschye ourselves up for more long-metal-tubing hours, homebound.

Challenge, busted! What's new eh? All was well, took on PIE and exit at Eng Neo. Saw Adam Road sign and I was absolutely sure I was heading the right way. Then...I missed the exit! Took a U-turn along Lornie and that was it! Adam Road just disappeared! Before my very eyes! Not a single Road sign, nor a single clue. How tragic, don't u think? Anyhow, I made a detour so we could meet at Commonwealth instead. We then headed for Great World City to catch Nanny MacPhee. Enjoyed it totally. Predictable, but honestly endearing. It's been awhile since I watched anything. Since Ayla was eliminated from the American Idols, I think. Oh no, not really. The last time has got to be last night when Yanti made me watch "Dia", an Indonesian soap for the first time. In the entirety of the much hype that rose from its last season's damp squib review that I heard from my Mum and some Makciks, I had no inkling whatsoever, until yesterday. All I know is that it can stir quite abit of an emotion. Cos I saw it manifesting when Yanti was watching it at my place last night. And yes I watched her video montage too. The one she's going to use at her wedding dinner. Just one word. It's (awww...) U know what I mean. Oklah I'll stop to coo. But I do believe now, that dreams, dreams do come true. I'm happy. I'm happy for Yanti! ;) Though U made me spent today, I shall not mention how much, for the baju I'm gonna wear on your wedding...it's worth it! ;)

Ma on holiday...

I sent Ma off at the airport yesterday. Am so glad that I was around to do so. But I wasn't in high spirits exactly cos honestly, it feels kinda strange that for once, someone else is leaving me behind. Because usually, it's me who does the leaving. And I guess now it has kinda sunk in and that I realised just how unpleasant the feeling of being left behind is. Even if it's just for a few days. But ofcos I want her to enjoy herself on her holiday and that's why she doesn't have to know this. She's already worrying about me leaving for my long flight the day that she's returning and that she won't be around before I leave. I certainly do not want her to worry about me, but I can't help worrying about her.

But the feeling kinda sucked, that she's away.

Whatever happened to *BEAR*.

Mind Boggling

The Sequel.

Well Ok, let me give u a lil preface, a lil introduction.

U see, it was 8 years ago and I was just this lil, SYT.

(MUAHAHAH! Huge huge laughter of indifference!)

Oklah maybe not so little. I was never little.

I grew up, never being little.

I mean, I ever was skinny. I know it's hard to convince you now.

But honestly, I grew up with "endearing" nicknames like,

"Tiang", "Kedengkik" and "Olive", just to name a few.

But my point is, I was once skinnny, but I was never little.

Hmmph, Sweeeeeeeeeet?

...subject to public consensus...

but I was certainly YOUNG!

Ok ok, on a serious note now,

I was in Jc then. JJC, to be exact.

Yes that building that just about anyone could easily blunder for

a Biscuit-producing, flatted factory.

Anyhow, great memories I had of my days there. Fondest ones, not-so-good ones,

but edifying, really!

Anyway, one day, that faithful day, when i was in JJC, about 8 years ago,

I was outside one LT, can't recall which one, studiously acting studious.

When my recently, reconciled-by-accident, "The Me" friend, introduced *BEAR* to me.

Since then, I've been a proud owner of *BEAR*, having had gained uncontended, full, custody.

Oblivious to his very reason for doing so, I took it anyhow.

I thought it was a nice gesture.

Period.

I never asked anyway.

And he never told me either.

And now 8 years later, he asked me if I still remember *BEAR*. And that if *BEAR* still exist.

But I can't answer his questions on the pretext that I am a very private person....

(like I don't share private *BEAR* details, stuffs like that...)

Ermmm....

Well...ofcos I remember *BEAR* and I know what happened to *BEAR*.

It's just that if I tell him, then I may have to kill him, or he'ld kill me instead.

Either, none of us will survive to relish the ending.

But Of cos I didn't eat *BEAR*, Neither did Musang, Kerli nor Princess.

*BEAR*'s nowhere collecting dust either...

like he has suggested in his blog.

And I didn't put *BEAR* up for adoption...

*BEAR*'s NOT at the Salvation Army.

It's....it's....

I'm sorry! I can't do it...

6 CD changer...a life-altering experience.

Somebody, save me!
I was driving myself to the airport today, for the lack of Samaritans to do me the honour. Anyway, if I couldn't be more honest, I actually love driving myself around. Especially the long rides, "...along the loooonnnnng straight roads..." someone used to say of my driving skills, for my one-dimensional, know-wheres-whats, of Singapore Geography, and my synonymousness to missing exits, can't see road signs, blurry visions at night, I swear in the day the road sign says turn left!..etc, etc which tantamouts to...asyik sesat jelah! (Ah-shake ser-sutt jer-luh) Translates, "keeps getting lostlah". But I always, always, cherish those private moments I have in my Musangz.

My personal ether...just me, my pink wheels, kitty decals, and butterfly thingies, that used to freak the living wits out of ex-Bf.

May they haunt u in ur dreams! Hhaha!

(Woopsie! Did I just say that out LOUD?!)
And a Mr Buble's drones, that I've chosen to name, A Perfect After-Rain CD. And Miss Clarkson's power vocals to up, limp, listless, grey days. Alongside Missy Elliot's, "Lose Control" and some..."my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...." that puts me in a trance like ecstacy would to an Ah Beng...

(...now DUN U EVEN DARE try to imagine me doing that 1 finger up, nodding head, dance OK!)
And because I'm accomodating as usual, I 'll allow a cd slot or 2 for the music preference of my Mum, Aunts, Uncles, Opah's...who sometimes I drive around or drive me around, when I feel like they should hahah...only those licensed, I mean. So while I was relishing my solitude and letting my fingers run the cd changer, I tried listening to one CD which obviously isn't mine. I loathed at its introduction but let it roll regardless. And to my utter shock, that jolts the living will of me for I'm putting my life on the line here by publishing this on my blog, of something to the likes of

Yes I finally bought my pair of sneakers and yet I'm not exactly grinning from ear to ear.

Cos again, Again! For the second time already,

I ended up buying something different from what that I had initially planned.

It dated back since December when I had so wanted to get a pair of white sneakers and I was in London at that time. Went into the shop and stepped out with a pair of bronze ones instead.

And this time, today, at Wisma, I stepped out, with an off-white pair of Lacoste sneakers!

When all I had wanted was a WHITE one!

What the heck is wrong with me?

How many pairs do I have to own before finally getting that pair I really wanted?!

URGggH!

And I thought I'm only fickle with my hair?!

(..like if I should have it straight, or permed? down, or up in a ponytail?...high? or one down my nape? to dye or leave it jet black the way it is...bangs? side part?left,right?long? SNIP it!?...layered..."V"-shaped down the back?..)

GEEEEZ!

Isn't No choice, the BEST choice, afterall?

...1 hr before I make my way to fetch Sis. Am planning to go to town for a tad while...khkehek! Have had some frivolous shopping thoughts brewing up my pod already! Am so wanting to get that Lacoste sneakers for the longest time! What better way than to fetch Sis, then, drop by town while making our way home. Tho home is in the west and so is where I am to fetch her later! (muahahah!) Senseless Directory sense? Frivol defense? U decide. Anyway, I had to do some travelling research earlier and I found out that for Singaporeans who are planning to visit Egypt, well u do need to apply for a visa. It'll take 3 working days to process and submission of application form and a passport-sized photograph has to be done in the morning, at the embassy. For visitors to Dubai, Singaporeans, do not need visas. Oh yes, that time when I was in Dubai, I realised that the weather's really perfect this time of the year, till around March or April. That's why I'm planning a holiday. Not for me exactly but for someone else, cos my leave won't be till May and Raya ofcos! Just some random info I thought could come in handy if you're planning a holiday there too.
Okay...I gotta go get ready now. I see, Ma's all excited about her short trip with my Aunts and Uncles next week. She's starting to iron her clothes and pack her barang-barang. Well, The Me, u know now where I get the "11hrs" packing habit from. If it's not "11hrs", then it's the "pack a week before u leave" method. Either, it explains the vaingloriousness... " ...we wear our fashion flair to our names... dress to our tress..." HIDUP VAINPOTS! k..no time for nomore tag lines...gotta go...I'm running late...!Bubye!

So... As I have promised to update when I return from the UAE... here goes.
Schedule was tight, reception hospitable. Had a swell of a time. Wished the stay was longer though. Haha!
That really was how brief my stay in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Now... I'll let the pictures do the yaking...
only if you'ld click on "click here" from "I speak graphics."
So glad to have finally gotten my photos uploaded. Had it done the last time on a different image host, but I noticed it doesn't have a fool-proof system, that will prevent anyone from tampering with the image codes. So I had to start over with the uploading. Honestly, I'm not totally done yet, but I hope to finish it soon.
I can't believe just how quickly 3 days had passed since I return. Urgh...and the feeling right now is not exactly the best of all emotions. Cos it's going-back-to-work day, tomorrow. My plan was to give away my off days for flights but did not receive much of anything quite as attractive as I thought I could have gotten. So I thought of going away myself, for a short trip, but I remembered that I was going to use my free ticket during my leave, if all goes well that is(InsyaAllah). And had planned to bring Ma with me on my flight sometime soon, so no more tickets to spare. But I really do hope my plans will not bust this time. Am so needing a get-away. The assignment was like a mini get-away from my mundane routine and only God knows just how it had came in time, to save me from the perils of yet another DSS episode2! Alhamdulillah! Haha! Haiz...and 3 days of recuperating and late supper sessions with Ma, Aunt and Uncle, late sleeps (detrimental to expanding waistline...)...how could I even think about giving away my off days???...
I really want to be around some more...really!really!

n i so noe that feeling!i hv finished wat i'm supposed to do @ work,had prolonged lunch hr,2 unofficial tea breaks, n i just feel TIRED. waking up every morn,wishing for a well-deserved massage. (k...me getting very lor sor!)

Whatever happened to *BEAR*...

1. Half mangled subjected to the mercy of Sunshine or/and Musang or/and Princess as a plaything.

2. Half mangled subjected to the mercy of Nadia or/and her mom or/and Ira as a plaything.

3. Somewhere deep inside her stash of given items collecting dust.

4. Somewhere not so deep inside her stash of given items collecting lesser dust.

5. Been made an effigy representing The Me as a voodoo doll (no wonder The Me couldn't explain the sudden urges to pee).

6. Grew up, married another bear and a proud father of a baby bear.

7. Going places as a luggage companion for Nadia.

8. Probably had a job better than The Me.

9. In a land of the forgotten items, still waiting for the attention of its owner.

10. Probably thinking why he's created.

11. (related to 6) Finding the culprit that ate his son's porridge, sat on his son's chair and slept on his son's bed.

12. Taken care by the hands of time.

13. Remembered why he's given to Nadia in the first place and intending to fulfill his responsibility.

14. As a symbol to Nadia that The Me does exist.

15. Resurrected, re-energised and relived as though it's just been given at the school bench in front of the gym and LT3

Perhaps more shall come but for now, this is what The Me could think of which is a miracle considering the time this was typed. So there might be a part 2.
